West Hollywood Rings in 2025 with VIBEZ: A Sober New Year’s Celebration
The City of West Hollywood hosted a unique New Year’s Eve event, VIBEZ: A Sober New Year Celebration, on December 31, 2024.
РУССКАЯ КАЛИФОРНИЯ — RUSSIAN CALIFORNIA — Held at Plummer Park’s Fiesta Hall, this alcohol- and drug-free celebration brought together hundreds of local residents and visitors from across the Los Angeles area.
The event was co-sponsored by the City of West Hollywood and organized by The Phoenix, providing a safe and inclusive space for the sober community and their allies.
This year’s theme, Hot Western Rodeo, set a playful tone, with many attendees rocking cowboy boots and cow-print outfits. Hosted by the charismatic drag queen Salinas EsTitties and featuring DJ Michael Ian, the evening included drag performances, dancing, a mechanical bull, and a photobooth. Guests enjoyed light refreshments and a sober midnight toast to ring in 2025.
The celebration ran from 8:30 p.m. on December 31 until 12:30 a.m. on January 1, 2025. Free and open to individuals aged 18 and older, the event emphasized the importance of providing an alternative to substance-heavy holiday gatherings.
Every New Year’s Eve, the City of West Hollywood organizes events like VIBEZ to foster community and inclusivity. These celebrations have become a beloved tradition, drawing both locals and visitors to a memorable and substance-free way to welcome the new year.
