Russian California (RusCali.com) is independently owned and operated by Vitaly Ataev Troshin as a California sole proprietorship. Vitaly Ataev Troshin serves as Founder, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief.

Independent ownership

Russian California / RusCali is independently operated and is not owned or controlled by a political party, political action committee, lobbying organization, government agency, or outside media corporation.

Editorial decisions are made independently by the publication. Advertising, sponsorships, grants, partnerships and other sources of financial support do not provide outside parties with control over RusCali’s editorial decisions or coverage.

History of Russian California

The concept for Russian California was developed and put into practice in 2020 as an independent media initiative focused on California, its communities and the Russian-speaking and post-Soviet population of the state.

In 2021, RusCali.com began publishing news and journalistic materials online. Since then, the publication has continued developing its California coverage while also reporting on major developments across the United States.

The current fictitious business name registration for RUSSIAN CALIFORNIA was filed in San Bernardino County in 2024. The current business registration therefore represents the formal business structure under which the publication operates and should not be confused with the earlier establishment and publishing history of the news organization itself.
